Key Features
This page describes a number of the key features which can also be seen on the online demonstration. Visual Manager is also continually developing new templates to extend the power of the structured project model, some of which may not yet be available online.
Structure
The basis of successful projects lies in their organisation, and Visual Manager makes maximum use of this, basing reporting on a one-to-one model of project structure, together with a system of status flags to simplify your overview of project ‘health’.
Simplicity
Whether you are an end user or project builder, the system itself is undemanding and easy to use for both end-users and project controllers - if you are smart enough to fill in a form, then you’re smart enough to build it as well!
User-level access control
Give access to the people you want, to the information they need. Even within individual projects users can be managed in ‘access zones’ which literally correspond with the project structure and provide a range of access levels from hidden to read-only, read/write access, and access management within the zone.
Browser access to records
Whichever record you want, and online form or an uploaded document or screenshot, Visual Manager gives access to the right people in the place they expect to find it.
Searching and filtering
Whether searching for key words, in records or documents, or looking for ‘flagged’ items, the search system is easy to use and based on the SQL Server Full Text Search engine, extending searches to stored documents but still within the access limits designed for users.
Reports
A range of standard reports provide easy means to track activity, manage user access, or output full information reports in a format suitable for printing.
Customisation flexibility
Online forms are very easy to copy, duplicate, or build, and are immediately integrated with the full range of search and filtering features available on existing forms.
Templates
Get your project off to a quick start with a range of ready-made forms and project templates. There is also a range of specialist templates for specific project types (not available on the online demo).
Secure back-end database
Built using Microsoft SQL Server technology, the software is highly reliable and secure, with opportunities to use the full range of ancillary tools provided by the system (SQL Server included on request for pricing of customer-site installations).
